ABOUT//ALBERT EINSTEIN COLLEGE OF MEDICINE

THE ALBERT EINSTEIN COLLEGE OF MEDICINE IS ON THE CUTTING-EDGE OF MEDICAL RESEARCH

  • Einstein was the only New York City institution to be involved in the historic Human Genome Mapping Project
  • Einstein has received funding supporting NIH-designated research centers in major biomedical fields, including brain research, cancer, diabetes, AIDS research, and liver disease.
  • Einstein’s new, state-of-the-art Michael F. Price Center for Genetic and Translational Medicine and the Harold & Muriel Block Research Pavilion opened in 2008 and here doctors work with technologies that hold promise for treating–and eventually curing–some of our most dreaded afflictions, including cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and diabetes.
  • Einstein’s Children’s Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center (CERC), a nationally renowned program serves children with severe developmental disorders and will aim to identify the causes of and develop better treatments, and eventually the cures for conditions such as autism, cerebral palsy and learning and language disabilities.
