Postdoctoral Position in Vascular Biology
Job Description:
A postdoctoral position, funded by NIH, is available immediately in the Division of Hematology. We have transgenic-knockout models for sickle cell disease, hypoxia-inducible factor-1 alpha (HIF-1 alpha) and thalassemia, and are using to study vascular biology. The particular emphasis is on the role of oxidative stress, nitric oxide and HIF-1 alpha in vascular tone modulation. The applicants must have prior experience in animal work. The work will involve physical contact with mice, intravital microscopy, small animal surgery, Western blots, ELISA and RT-PCR. The applicants should be enthusiastic and interested in basic research.
