Scientific American interviews Steven Sparr, M.D., about amusia, the inability to recognize musical tones or to reproduce them, which strikes many stroke victims. Dr. Sparr is professor in the Saul R. Korey Department of Neurology at Einstein and director of the neurovascular laboratory and of neurorehabilitation at the Stern Stroke Center at Montefiore.
