
CNN interviews Brian Currie, M.D., M.P.H. about the current swine flu outbreak. Dr. Currie compares the number and severity of cases with those of seasonal influenza in the United States. There are approximately 36,000 deaths in the U.S. from the annual flu virus, compared to zero from the swine flu, as of the date of interview. Dr. Currie is professor of clinical medicine and of clinical epidemiology & population health at Einstein and assistant dean for clinical research at Montefiore Medical Center.
