May 11, 2007 - (BRONX, NY) - Jed M. Shivers has been appointed Associate Dean for Finance and Administration at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University, it was announced by Allen M. Spiegel, M.D., The Marilyn and Stanley M. Katz Dean of the medical school.
Mr. Shivers succeeds Associate Dean Emanuel Genn, who is retiring after 35 years of service to Einstein.
Mr. Shivers brings especially broad and diverse experience at a number of the nation's leading medical institutions to his new role at Einstein. Most recently he was at the University of California, San Francisco, where he oversaw all financial activities of the institution and was also Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Programs. Prior to that, he was at Yale University School of Medicine where he first served as administrator for the Departments of Pediatrics and Surgery and later as the medical school's Chief Administrative and Financial Officer. Earlier, Mr. Shivers was administrator of the Department of Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine.
Mr. Shivers earned his B.A. degree in the natural sciences from John Hopkins University in 1978 and an M.B.A. degree from the University of Connecticut School of Business in 1980.
