On Sunday, September 8, 2013, reflecting a great interest in global health among the class of 2017, more than 50 first-year students attended "Around the World," the first Global Health Club event of the year. Club board members discussed the many opportunities in global health at Einstein, and about the club’s role in various activities.
Students also had the chance to ask second-years who had traveled abroad through the Global Health Fellowship program this summer about their experiences. Following the completion of first year, nearly 60 medical students traveled to locations worldwide, including South Africa, Peru, India, Ghana and Guatemala.
First-years also learned about important upcoming events, such as the Global Health Meet and Greet on Tuesday, October 15, which is part of Global Health Week — to be held October 14 to 18. They also talked to one another about their own interests in traveling abroad.
