Emanuel "Manny" Genn, Einstein’s former associate dean for finance and administration, and his wife Myra have established an endowment to support professional staff development at the College of Medicine. The Genn Prize, as this generous $100,000 gift will be known, provides financial assistance for the professional and career development of Einstein’s career managers and administrators. The award’s goal is to aid in developing skills, knowledge and other qualities that prepare career staff employees for career growth within the College of Medicine.
"Manny spent more than 36 years working tirelessly for the overall improvement and success of Einstein. We have seen firsthand how his professional commitment enhanced the learning and research environment at the College of Medicine," said Yvonne Ramirez, chief human resources officer at Yeshiva University and Einstein. "While here, Manny sought new and innovative methods for improving operations and administrative structures, often looking externally to identify ways in which to solve problems or develop solutions for new initiatives. The Genn Prize is an extension of Manny’s commitment to Einstein, assuring its excellence going forward."
The Genn Prize will be awarded annually to a management staff employee who has demonstrated outstanding performance and commitment in improving the College of Medicine. To learn more about the prize, the level of support it will provide for professional development and how to apply, please visit the human resources website.
