Displaying Your Abstract Data on a Poster Using PowerPoint

Event Description:
This workshop is designed to help participants create posters for their scientific meetings using PowerPoint. Drs. Burton and Coyle will give tips for making better posters as well as show examples of the good, the bad, and the ugly. This will be an interactive workshop with hands-on practice. Participants can choose to work from their own abstract in creating the poster, or work from one provided by the presenters. The target audience for this workshop is faculty new to research. After taking this course, you will be able to: -Lay out your poster, both from scratch and using a predesigned template -Create/add objects in the poster including text, images, graphs, tables -Describe characteristics of good and bad posters -Utilize resources for writing abstracts and developing posters -Deliver a high-quality poster presentation
