Excel Part I: The Basics

Event Description:
This workshop is the first in a 3-part series and introduces participants to the basic features of Microsoft Excel 2016, helping them to organize and present data effectively using spreadsheets. All participants will get to experience the potential that can be achieved with Excel as the instructor orients them to the Excel interface and various functions used to manage data. By the end of this workshop, participants will be familiar with several of the Excel skills necessary to input, gather and format data for more productive use and sharing. After taking this workshop, participants will be able to: -Explain the various parts of an Excel workbook -Format cells, rows, and columns -Organize data using the sort and filter features -Enter formulas and use basic mathematical functions Also, register for other workshops in the Excel series Formulas and Functions and Analyzing Data with Pivot Tables.
