Letters of Recommendation for Medical Students: Tools for Effective Writing

Event Description:
Faculty members are often asked by medical students to write letters of recommendation on their behalf. This interactive workshop is intended to help participants strengthen their skills as letter writers. Participants will learn to recognize the most effective writing styles and to develop practical strategies to enhance their overall letter-writing. You will not want to miss this workshop! After taking this workshop, participants will: - Identify faculty and applicant responsibilities regarding letters of recommendation - Learn practical strategies to read and decode letters of recommendation written by others - Learn effective writing styles (and how to avoid common pitfalls) when writing letters of recommendation for medical students

Target Audience:
Due to space constraints, participation in workshops sponsored by the Office of Faculty Development is limited to individuals with faculty appointments at the medical school. Thank you for understanding.
