Be Part of the Conversation: Put Your Best Foot Forward on Social Media

Date: Friday, January 05, 2018

Time: 10:00 AM To 12:00 PM

Location: Price Center, Room 251

Event Description:
Social Media is a way to connect with scientists or educators who you would not ordinarily be able to connect with. It has opened up a new world of possibilities for connecting, sharing information, and highlighting innovations in medical education, patient care, and research across the nation for many medical schools and teaching hospitals. Instead of waiting to discuss new research in-person with a handful of colleagues or at a conference, academic medicine professionals can reach more people in more places through social media. Using social media platforms provides a ‘virtual megaphone’ to get your message across to a larger audience This session with our very own David Flores, Social Media Manager for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, will help participants enhance their existing Twitter accounts to communicate more effectively with others in your field and stay connected in real time. Mr. Flores will give tips for developing your on-line presence so that others are interested in connecting with you and collaborating with you.

Target Audience:
Due to space constraints, participation in workshops sponsored by the Office of Faculty Development is limited to individuals with faculty appointments at the medical school. Thank you for understanding. Albert Einstein College of Medicine designates this live educational activity for a maximum of 2.0 AMA PRA Credit (s)TM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Albert Einstein College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
