Ricardo A. Cruciani, MD PhD is Vice-Chairman, Director of the Pain Division and Director of the Center for non-Invasive Brain Stimulation of New York, DPMPC, BIMC, NY, and Professor of Clinical Neurology and Clinical Anesthesiology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York, NY. He has a PhD in pharmacology (Suma Cum Laude) and was a fellow and later an associate researcher at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) where he trained in opioid pharmacology and neurophysiology. Then he trained in Neurology and Psychiatry at Cornell University, New York, and in Pain Management at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center also in New York. His main research interests are opioid pharmacology, neuropathic pain and brain stimulation for the management of chronic pain syndromes. He published over 100 publications including peer reviewed journals, book chapters, and editorials. He has been key note speaker and lectured at over 100 international and national meetings. He served as member of the Scientific Committee and Board of Directors for the both the American Pain Society, USA and the Eastern Pain Association, USA and is the President Elect of the Eastern Pain Society, USA. He was the Editor in Chief of APM, is co-editor of several books and special issues on pain management, and is on the Editorial Board of the JPSM. He serves as a reviewer in numerous journals, sat at NIH study sections and was a NIH grantee for several years.
