Professional Interests

Dr. Andrea Card joined the Primary Care and Social Internal Medicine Residency Program (PC/SM) as core faculty in 2010. Raised in Belize, Central America and later Miami, Florida, Dr. Card received her undergraduate degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences from Florida International University. She spent eight years at the University of Miami, completing her Doctor of Medicine, and then a Medicine-Pediatrics residency.

Following residency, Dr. Card moved to New York for fellowship training in General Internal Medicine at Columbia University, where she undertook research in cardiovascular health disparities and the impact of acculturation on urban immigrants. She then was on faculty at Harlem Hospital for two years, where she served as the primary care medicine clerkship site director for Columbia, and led the ambulatory medicine didactic curriculum for Harlem Hospital residents.
