Professional Interests

Dr. Cynthia Taub is Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) and the Director of Non-invasive Cardiology and Section Head of Cardiovascular Imaging at Montefiore Medical Center,

Dr. Taub completed medical school at Beijing Medical University, graduate research training in molecular biology at Dartmouth Medical School, medical residency and chief residency at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center, a clinical fellowship in Cardiology at Hartford Hospital/University of Connecticut, and an advanced fellowship in echocardiography at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Her clinical interests include echocardiography, heart diseases in women, heart diseases during pregnancy, and valvular heart disease. Her research interests include multimodality cardiac imaging, heart diseases during pregnancy, valvular heart disease, and racial and gender disparity in access to cardiac care. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts, review articles and book chapters. She regularly speaks at regional, national and international conferences.

Dr. Taub served on the American Society of Echocardiography's Board of Directors, International Relations Advisory Committee, and Ethics and Bylaws Committee, and is a fellow of the ASE. She is the chair of the International Relations Advisory Committee at the ASE. She serves as a member of the Non-Invasive Cardiac Imaging editorial team for American College of Cardiology's acc.org. She has participated in writing some of the American College of Cardiology's practice guidelines on valvular heart disease.  She has received numerous teaching and research awards, and is board certified in cardiovascular disease and adult comprehensive echocardiography.
