On Campus Checklist

  • Housing

When you arrive go to the security desk located in the 1935 building. You will show the security guard your ID and sign out your keys.

  • Einstein ID

    Incoming Students
Unless other arrangements are made, students should visit the security office once arriving on campus so that they have unrestricted access to residential housing. * Commuter students should make sure to get their ID card before the start of Orientation, August 14, 2017. *

Einstein Campus identification cards are issued through the Department of Security and Transportation, located on the first floor of the Forchheimer Building, Suite G-9. The administrative office is open Monday through Friday from 9 AM-5 PM.

An initial identification card is provided at no cost to incoming students. A valid form of photo identification, i.e. driver's license or passport must be presented before a photo identification card is issued.

Students should display their Einstein ID card whenever on campus as it provides restricted access to residential housing as well as educational and research facilities. The ID also provides students with shuttle transportation to the many local hospitals as part of the medical education curriculum, as well as library privileges and access to the Falk Center Recreation Facility.

  • Library Services Form

Once you have received your ID from the security office you must complete this form to gain access to the library services.

    Deadline: August 22, 2017

  • WIFI

Set Up your computer and WIFI with YUwireless
New students are mandated to setup their laptops to work with YUwireless before the first day of orientation.

There will be a session that the Office of Medical Education will be demonstrating the uses of the online course management application that CAN ONLY be opened up on the YUwireless secured network.

    Configuring YUwireless on mobile computers:

Only WIndows 7 and Mac OS 10.9 or earlier versions are required to use the YUsetup script configuring the YUwireless. For Windows 8 , WIndows 10 and Mac OS 10.10 PLus laptops user can connect directly to the YUwireless and to enter the YUAD credential as prompted to authenticate into the wireless network. Then to open up Safari on the Mac and Internet explorer/Microsoft Edge (win10) to proceed installing the Safeconnect agent as prompted on the screen to complete the Yuwireless configurations.

It is strongly recommended to restart the computer before running YUsetup script using the correct Internet browsers for both Macintosh and Windows laptops. YUwireless and YUsetup wireless networks are only available on the main campus buildings. In the Housing area the Verizon FIOS service is independent from the Einstein campus wide wireless network.

    Instructions are as follows:

    1. From your Wi-Fi enabled device connect to the network called 'YUSetup'.
    2. You will be redirected to the YUSetup homepage below.

Note: It is important that on Macintosh systems Safari is used and on WIndows systems MS Internet Explorer is used. This will enable the Xpress Connect script to install all the essential components correctly for wireless connectivity. You may use the browser of your choice after the setup is complete.
