    Description of Research

MacroH2A1 is a histone variant that, when incorporated into chromatin, regulates gene expression important for tumor suppression. The objective of my thesis research is to determine how macroH2A1 is accurately targeted to its locations in activated and repressed chromatin. This knowledge will allow us to determine how macroH2A1 deposition is dysregulated in cancer.

    Keywords:

    chromatin, histone variants, cancer

    Why Einstein

I could feel the collaborative environment of Einstein even at my interview. I knew I would be able to walk into any lab and get advice from experts in anything I needed.

    Advice for Prospective Students

Ask questions. You may not have heard about some of the research programs at Einstein, so tell faculty what you are interested in and they will happily steer you towards potential mentors.
