TBL 101

Date: Wednesday, April 03, 2013  Save to Calendar

Time: 8:00 AM To 10:30 AM

Location: Lubin Dining Hall

Event Description:
Team-based Learning (TBL) is a specific instructional strategy to enhance learning in the small or large group setting. TBL utilizes theoretical and practical strategies to ensure the effectiveness of small-groups working independently in classes with high student-faculty ratios, without losing the benefits of faculty-led small groups with lower ratios. This workshop will introduce participants to the principles of TBL using the method itself within the session. Challenges to implementation will be reviewed and we will provide strategies and advice for those interested in implementing this technique into their teaching repertoire. Participants will have an opportunity to create a strategic plan for implementing TBL in their own courses, clerkships, or residency programs.
