Einstein Enrichment Program (EEP)

Overview

The Einstein Enrichment Program's (EEP) mission is to serve grades 7-12 students who are economically disadvantaged or who have been historically underrepresented in the medical and scientific professions. To qualify, students must demonstrate high academic school performance, good school attendance, and an interest in pursuing careers in health, medicine and/or science. The program runs approximately fifteen weeks each fall and spring semesters, and students over the age of 16 have the option of attending our five-week summer program. Students are accepted as they enter the 7th grade at PS89 for the middle school component; students are accepted from PS 89 for our 9th grade class; and applications for 10th and 11th grade are accepted from students who live and go to school in the Bronx.  High school program accepted students are expected to remain with EEP through senior year.

There are approximately 50 other STEP programs receiving funds from New York State and funding is renewed yearly by the governor and legislature. As a supplement to state funding, Einstein College demonstrates its commitment to the community by providing substantial additional funding.
