Residency and Fellowship Programs
The mission ofthe Department of Pathology of Montefiore Medical Center/Einstein Medical School is to deliver the highest quality of medical care through the use of state-of-the-art diagnostic procedures and the translation of new knowledge into the practice of Pathology.This mission is supported by a commitment to excellence in research to advance the field of knowledge in Medicine and Biology, and to train professionals who are prepared to meet existing as well as future challenges to Medicine and Society.
The overall goal of the residency program of the Department of Pathology of the Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine is to provide the proper educational and clinical environment in the various areas of anatomic pathology and clinical pathology/laboratory medicine, which will allow residents to develop into competent, independent and knowledgeable pathologists who will be life-long learners, effective teachers, successful laboratory managers and active members of the multidisciplinary patient care team. The training programs have sufficient latitude to enable residents to become involved in research opportunities within the medical center and the medical school.
We offer residency training in Anatomic Pathology (AP) only, Clinical Pathology (CP) only, combined AP and CP (AP/CP), AP/Research or CP/Research,and combined AP and Neuropathology (AP/NP).
We offer ACGME clinical fellowships in Cytopathology, Dermatopathology, Genetics, GI/Liver Pathology, Hematopathology, Neuropathology and Women's Health pathology. We also offer a Post-sophomore year Fellowship.
