The Saul R. Korey Department of Neurology

Nicole Brescia, M.D.

Back to Roster

Dr. Nicole Brescia realized she wanted to study medicine after interacting with many amazing scientists, girl scouts, and local health care workers during her undergraduate education at University of California-Santa Cruz. She journeyed to Wayne State University School of Medicine in charismatically chaotic and richly diverse Detroit, Michigan where she threw herself into her studies and emerged with Alpha Omega Alpha recognition upon graduation in 2013. During her third and fourth year of medical school she uncovered a fascination with the brain and its various maladies and a passion for serving children and their families. These self-discoveries lead to her current quest to become a pediatric neurologist. She has spent the last two years in the wonderful pediatric residency at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore where she was honored with the “Most Enthusiastic Teacher” Award. She is now thrilled to be serving with the adult neurology department. Her work related interests include language development, autism, teaching and resident wellness. When she is not at work she enjoys reading science fiction, hiking, knitting and cooking imaginative vegetarian food.
