Dr. Sharon Rikin Joins Department of Medicine

Sharon Rikin, MD, MS, has joined the Department of Medicine as Associate Director of Ambulatory Quality Improvement and as Assistant Professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine. 

Dr. Rikin graduated from Emory University with a degree in Anthropology, and completed medical school and then residency training in Internal Medicine/Pediatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Following residency, she completed General Internal Medicine fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center and received a Master’s degree in Epidemiology at the Mailman School of Public Health.

Dr. Rikin’s interests and expertise include quality improvement and population health management, as well as understanding how culture, beliefs, and communication influence medical decision-making.

At Montefiore, she will be working on identifying innovative approaches to systems-based quality improvement for the Department of Medicine.
