Eric Epstein, MDEric Epstein, MD, Assistant Professor of Medicine (Endocrinology, will officially start November 1st as the new physician leader of the Department's practice.
Dr. Epstein received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University, and his M.D. from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. Following an internal medicine residency at New York Hospital/Cornell and Memorial Sloan-Kettering, he joined the Einstein/Montefiore Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism Fellowship Training Program and stayed on as a faculty member in the Division of Endocrinology.
Dr. Epstein is an attending physician on the endocrinology consult and inpatient medicine services, and runs the endocrine course for Einstein medical students. He has established a highly productive endocrinology practice at the Department of Medicine's Scarsdale facility, and he also practices at the MAP-2 site.
Dr. Epstein has been a departmental leader in rolling out the cEMR in the ambulatory practice. He will devote 50% of his total effort to managing the practice, and will work closely with Patrice Cihak (below) to improve patient and physician access, patient scheduling, patient satisfaction, and quality.
