Einstein medical students Yehuda Lerea, Mary Derasmo, and Derek Wu have been awarded the 2012 Medical Student Training in Aging Research (MSTAR) program scholarships, according to Dr. Amy Ehrlich, Associate Professor and Director of the Geriatrics Fellowship Program.
MSTAR is a competitive national program sponsored by the American Federation for Aging Research (AFAR), the National Institute on Aging, and the Hartford Foundation, and provides a summer experience in aging‑related research to encourage medical students, particularly those interested in research, to consider a career in academic geriatrics. Students apply for positions at either a National Training Center or at their home institution.
