Diversity Affairs Hosts Minority Student Open House

more photos The Einstein/Montefiore Department of Medicine Diversity Affairs Committee hosted its third annual open house for minority students interested in internal medicine Saturday, October 30, 2010.
Minority medical students from Einstein, Columbia, Mount Sinai, NYU, SUNY Downstate, Stony Brook, Howard, and UMDNJ-RWJ attended the half-day event, held on the Moses Campus. Attendees listened to presentations covering all aspects of the Internal Medicine Residency experience and talked with minority residents, program directors, and Department of Medicine leaders Dr. Victor Schuster, Chairman, and Dr. Philip Lief, Residency Program Director.

The event concluded with a tour of Montefiore Medical Center and reception.
The open house was organized by members of the Diversity Affairs Committee and the Internal Medicine Residency Programs, including Drs. Chinazo Cunningham, Cristina Gonzalez, and Irene Blanco, as well as Drs. Lanny Smith, Phil Lief, Hillary Kunins, Marta Rico, Joe DeLuca, and Bettina Fries, and Education Administrator Anna Manca.
