Medicine Faculty Editors and Editorial Board Members
Several Department of Medicine faculty members are serving or will be serving as editors of scientific medical journals, an important function for the advancement of Einstein's collective science.
Enver Akalin, MD (Nephrology) has been invited by the editors of Transplantation to join the journal's editorial board beginning in 2010.
Gary Schwartz, PhD (Endocrinology) has been invited by the American Physiological Society to be appointed as an Associate Editor of American Journal of Physiology - Endocrinology and Metabolism beginning on July 1, 2010. Dr. Schwartz has also been invited to serve on the editorial board of the journal Diabetes beginning January 1, 2010.
Kami Kim, MD (Infectious Diseases) has been recognized by Harold E. Varmus, Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board of the journal PLoS Pathogens, for being an editorial board member of that journal (Associate Editor, since December 2007, turned Section Editor, April 2009-present).
