Moderate Drinking May Help Prevent Hip Fracture

General Internal Medicine) carried out a systematic review and meta analysis of the effects of alcohol consumption on bone mineral density and hip fracture, concluding that moderate drinking can be beneficial in preventing hip fractures. The article came out in the May issue of the American Journal of Medicine and received a fair amount of attention from the press, including US News and Reuters.
