Zingman Appointed Clinical Director of Infectious Diseases
Barry Zingman, M.D., Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine (Infectious Diseases), has been appointed Clinical Director of the Einstein-Montefiore Division of Infectious Diseases at the Moses Division.
Dr. Zingman assumed this position on July 1, 2008, retaining his position as Medical Director of the Einstein-Montefiore AIDS Center, the largest multidisciplinary and multispecialty adult HIV/AIDS program in New York State. In this new role, Dr. Zingman is responsible for overseeing clinical care and program development of adults with infectious-disease-related issues.
Dr. Zingman has been Principal Investigator or Medical Director on over 50 HIV/AIDS-related research protocols and grants. He is the Adult Patient Coordinator for the Clinical Core of the Center for AIDS Research and a member of the unit's Steering Committee. He directs an HIV research team enrolling over 200 patients per year into research protocols.
Dr. Zingman is Vice-Chair of the NYS AIDS Institute's Quality of Care Advisory Committee, Vice-Chair of the AIDS Institute's Medical Care Criteria Committee; a member of the HRSA Ryan White Part C/D HIVQual Clinical Advisory Committee; and chair or member on numerous other state and national HIV quality and standard of care subcommittees.
