Division of Nephrology

A Message from the Chief

Welcome

The Einstein-Montefiore Division of Nephrology has a distinguished history of innovation in research, clinical care, and education and is one of the nations’ leading academic Nephrology programs. Our Division is a vibrant environment that promotes success in achieving our tripartite missions:

  • To provide comprehensive, compassionate, patient-centered care for persons living with kidney disease
  • To pursue groundbreaking research addressing critical clinical and scientific questions that promise to improve the lives of patients with kidney disease
  • To provide world class education to train the next generation of leaders in clinical nephrology and
    nephrology research

The Nephrology Division provides clinical care for a patient population with extraordinary racial/ethnic, socioeconomic, and cultural diversity. This diversity is also reflected in the wide array of kidney diseases treated by our physicians. Moreover, members of our Division manage the care of nearly 1,000 patients with end stage kidney disease and we are home to one of the region’s largest and most successful kidney transplant programs.

The Division Faculty are actively engaged in a diverse array of funded research programs spanning basic and translational research into the pathogenesis of kidney diseases, epidemiology, and clinical trials to improve the care of patients with kidney disease.

Our Nephrology Fellowship Program attracts outstanding candidates and provides exceptional clinical training that is enriched by the diversity of our patient population. Our Fellows have the opportunity to pursue important basic, translational, or clinical research projects with individualized mentoring to ensure that they achieve their career goals.

I invite you to learn more about our outstanding clinical, research, and training programs.
