Education Overview

The Einstein/Montefiore Division of Critical Care Medicine is a leader in critical care medicine scholarly activity, conducting local, regional, national and international educational programs that include:

  • ACGME-accredited, ABIM-sponsored Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Training Program 
  • Critical Care Physician Assistant Residency Program 
  • Pulmonary and Critical Care Research Symposia among three major Einstein campuses
  • Critical Care Clinical Trials Group of medical and surgical intensive care units
  • Einstein ICU Study Group, a clinical trial consortium directed at becoming a regional intensive care research organization
  • New York Metropolitan Symposium on Critical Care Management
  • National Committee of Fellowship Program Directors (Committee Chair)
  • Steering Committee of the Critical Care Leadership Network under GNYHA-UHF covering 68 hospitals and 143 ICUs in the New York metropolitan area (Committee Chair)
  • Educational standards for non-clinical curriculum in all national medical education programs, including many of the items under “ACGME Core Curriculum”
  • Regional and national symposia and postgraduate courses in administration, management, business structure, resource and cost management, managed care/critical care research, as well as outcomes research
