Critical, constructive review is an important part of any training program. Effective, non-threatening objective and subjective review must take place at all levels, including fellows, faculty, program directors and the chief.
The Einstein-Montefiore Cardiology Fellowship Program employs several approaches to meet this goal:
Fellow Evaluations
How trainees are evaluated by attending physicians and the program director.
Faculty Evaluations
Methods through which fellows evaluate faculty members
Program Evaluations
Open-forum lunchtime sessions for discussion between fellows and the program director.
Academic Core Competencies
Patient care, medical knowledge/disease mix, practice-based learning and improvement, interpersonal skills and communication, professionalism, systems-based practice.
