Citation Guidelines
Students are expected to follow accepted ethical standards regarding using works by others. Improper citation of works by others may be considered plagiarism, even if unintentional, and may be cause for receiving a failing grade. The following links provide useful summaries of the guidelines for citations based on the two main styles used in public health publications: American Medical Association and American Psychological Association. Students can use either format but must be consistent within each paper. Individual faculty may state a preference for a particular format to be used in class assignments.
