Application and Eligibility

We invite all qualified candidates to apply to the PCOR PRIME program. If you are unsure if you should apply, contact the prime@einstein.yu.edu with questions.

Strong preference is given to candidates with a specific PCOR project in mind, and a plan to design and initiate that study over the next year. In addition, while we do not require any specific level of ‘protected time,’ we are asking for Departmental acknowledgement of this activity, and its support of the applicant and the project.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Evidence of prior training and experience in clinical research: e.g., prior completion of Einstein’s Clinical Research Training Program (CRTP), or equivalent training at other institutions (usually accompanied by a Master’s degree).
  • Commitment to participate in a full-time, onsite educational program in the Bronx from Tuesday September 8 through Friday September 11, 2015, with absolutely no clinical or other professional responsibilities during that period.

Application Process

All application materials must be submitted by July 31, 2015 (including all requests for letters through the online application portal) for consideration in the class that commences on September 8 2015.

Applications are accepted via our online application system using Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox (CLICK HERE TO BEGIN).

The online system also enables you to send email requests for the required letters/documentation. Required elements include:

  • Applicant Information Form (online form accessible via the appropriate online application link below)
  • A Personal Statement which describes your career goals and explains why you believe this training program will help you to achieve those goals. Not to exceed one page single-spaced using 12 point font
  • OPTIONAL BUT STRONGLY RECOMMENDED: A Research Project Proposal which contains a brief description of your study question and methods. Not to exceed two pages single-spaced using 12 point font
  • Your full Curriculum Vitae
  • Letters of Support: You will be asked to provide email addresses for two (2) individuals who can provide letters addressing your potential for a career in patient centered outcomes research.
  • Departmental Acknowledgement: You will be asked to provide an email address for the appropriate individual who will provide departmental support for your intent to participate in this program and (when applicable) your proposed research project. Typically, this letter will come from your Department Chair, but your direct supervisor (if different) may also provide this acknowledgement. The individual you select will be asked to submit a letter which includes the following:
    • Their support of your participation in PCOR-PRIME
    • Their understanding that your enrolment will require you to participate in classroom activities full time between September 8 and September 11 2015, and that for the ensuring 6-10 months you will be participating in an asynchronous online learning program that will require you to devote between 2-5 hours per week on program classes and assignments.
