Signal Transduction investigators are elucidating mechanisms that govern target cell responses to hormones and growth factors. Modulation of hormonal responses by cytokines, metabolites and cell-cell interactions are also central topics of investigation.

Major interests include:

Initiation, propagation and termination of the insulin signal?

Signaling by counter-regulatory hormones?

Inflammatory signaling: origin and consequences of co-stimulatory interactions between insulin responsive tissues and inflammatory cells that occur in obesity, diabetes and related pathologies, and can lead to a dysregulation of glucose metabolism
