"STRESS MANAGEMENT FOR THE MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT GROUP"

This free research-based program was started in 2003 in order to address the needs of patients with advanced disease and those on treatment. This group is designed to help group members cope with the emotional, physical, and spiritual challenges of living with cancer and its treatment.

This program offers a safe place for those interested in sharing their thoughts and feelings, learning how to cope with day to day challenges, and connecting with others who may be going through the same things that they are going through. This group covers many different topics which include: Coping with Treatment Side Effects, Finding Peace & Hope, Coping with Change, Getting Your Needs Met, and Living Out Your Purpose.
There are 3 parts to participating in this program:
- First, if you have been diagnosed with cancer and are on treatment, call to see if you are eligible to participate.
- Second, you will be asked to answer some questions (usually over the telephone) about how you’re feeling both physically and emotionally every month or so, for up to 4 months.
- Third, you will attend 8 group meetings within 12 weeks of the Stress Management for the Mind, Body & Spirit Group. At the end of the 12 weeks you may continue with the group for as long as you like. You will also get readings and handouts every week based upon the weekly topic.
