Community Assessment and Capacity Building Core

Introduction to CACBC

Overview of the Community Assessment and Capacity Building Core (CACBC)

The CACBC was established at AECOM in Jan. 2009 as a new core resource housed in the Montefiore-Einstein Cancer Center.  The Core has the goal of engaging Bronx communities to identify ways to improve cancer prevention, screening and treatment outcomes as well as to address other health issues that affect the people of the Bronx. The CACBC will achieve this goal through the formation of sustainable partnerships with community-based organizations (CBOs) and groups. The Core is designed to act as a resource to both Bronx CBOs and Einstein faculty interested in developing, implementing, and evaluating public health interventions using a community-based participatory research (CBPR) approach to eliminating health disparities and creating health equity.
