We are responsible for enhancing the relationship between Einstein and various partners within its external community. We advocate on matters of importance to the College of Medicine and support all aspects of educational, research and public-health policy. This includes forging and maintaining relationships with elected officials on a local, state and federal basis, meeting with them in the Bronx, Albany or Washington.
Community & government relations strengthens ties by engaging elected officials and community leaders on a variety of issues, raising their concerns with the Einstein administration to develop mutually beneficial solutions. We also assist in the preparation of government-sponsored grants and member-item funding opportunities.
Additionally, we represent Einstein at political and community events. We also serve as a liaison to Bronx community boards and community-based organizations. Our unit coordinates the activities of Einstein’s community advisory council, a committee of local leaders that serves to mediate community needs and those of the College of Medicine.
