• In a recent Bloomberg article, Dr. Tia Powell comments on the controversial topic of doctor-assisted dying, and the need to create adequate protections for patients, including financial concerns that can affect decision-making.
• Dr. Tia Powell discusses FDA standards for studying new Alzheimer's drugs, in her first entry as a blogger for The Huffington Post. 

• In an opinion piece published online in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), Dr. Powell discusses the process that led three NYC hospitals to reach different decisions about when to evacuate hundreds of patients

• Los Angeles Times interviews Tia Powell about the ethical and medical issues surrounding the use of robotic pets as companions for the elderly.

• Certificate Program Reunion takes place in March. Melissa Kurtz writes about the event and keynote address by Mirai Chatterjee of SEWA.

• President Obama announces appointments to the Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues. The Commission will be chaired by Amy Gutmann, President of the University of Pennsylvania, and co-chaired by James Wagner, President of Emory University.
