Throughout May, the Einstein community has had the opportunity to learn about the various Shared Facilities and Cores on campus, thanks to a poster exhibit highlighting many of the facilities and their respective services. The month-long exhibit kicked off on April 30, with a special reception along the main hallway known as “Main Street” in the Leo Forchheimer Medical Sciences building, where the posters are on display. Directors of the cores were available during the reception to discuss services and answer questions about how their facility can enhance research efforts at Einstein.
The College of Medicine supports a diverse array of Shared Facilities and Cores, which greatly enhance the research that takes place at Einstein. These include an analytical imaging facility, a clinical research center, a flow cytometry core, a genomics facility, and a transgenic mouse facility.
At the reception, a new Shared Facilities and Cores catalog was distributed to attendees. The booklet provides updated contact information for key personnel in each shared facility, as well as new information on several recently established facilities and a summary of their supported technologies and instrumentation.
“The poster session and catalog are just two of the many approaches used by the office of scientific resources to inform and update Einstein investigators on the diverse and cutting-edge technologies supported by the core facilities,” said Harris Goldstein, associate dean for scientific resources.
