Einstein is a participant in the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS). AMCAS, which is part of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). To be eligible for consideration to Einstein, applicants must complete the AMCAS application – which is web-based and available at http://www.aamc.org/students/amcas – by October 15 of the year that they make their application.
All other supporting documentation must be postmarked no later than December 31. (Applicants who have completed two prior applications to Einstein are ineligible for consideration.)
All applicants must wait to receive an e-mail directly from the admissions office prior to submitting a Secondary application; otherwise their application will be withdrawn from further consideration and they will be charged the processing fee, if paid at the time of application.
Each medical school is assigned an AMCAS school code. The Einstein School Code for AMCAS is 120.
Applicants will be assigned an AAMC identification number at the time of application. This number will be used throughout the years of undergraduate and graduate medical education. Applicants will be asked to supply their AAMC I.D. number on the Einstein secondary application.
Applicants should maintain their contact information with AMCAS directly. Mailing addresses, e-mail addresses and telephone numbers should be updated as needed.
Einstein will communicate with applicants via e-mail; the exception is a letter of acceptance. It is important therefore, that applicants be aware that if their e-mail provider is filtering multiple (bulk) mailings ("SPAM/JUNK MAIL"), settings need to be revised to receive all e-mails coming from an address with @einstein.yu.edu.

It may take up to two months after interview for the admissions committee to review an application. Applicants should not be alarmed by the time needed to review an application. It has been our experience that highly rated candidates are usually offered a place in the class regardless of timing of the committee's review.
Invitations for interview and scheduling of interviews are done via e-mail.
PLEASE NOTE: It is important that you be aware that if your e-mail provider is filtering multiple mailings ("SPAM/JUNK MAIL"), you may not receive some of our bulk messages. Please be sure that your filter settings are set to accept all e-mails from addresses with our "@einstein.yu.edu" suffix.
The only time that the admissions office communicates with applicants via “snail mail” is when a letter of acceptance is sent. All other times, communication is via e-mail sent from email@example.com and/or by telephone 718.430.2106. Our FAX number is 718.430.8840. Acceptance is on a rolling admission basis. The first letters of acceptance are mailed on January 15 and are accompanied by an instructional e-mail.
It is critical that applicants keep AMCAS informed of changes in all contact information, i.e. e-mail, home and school address, and telephone number. Applicants should use their AAMC identification number when communicating with the College of Medicine.
