Through interdisciplinary collaboration, the department of neurological surgery aims to provide an optimal experience for patients throughout the region.
At Montefiore, the University hospital for Albert Einstein College of Medicine and a leading academic medical center, physicians are provided with the resources and tools to train the next generation and advance the practice of medicine. We are a teaching program on the leading edge of clinical advances and share our expertise in a variety of subspecialties for patient care.
Our neurosurgeons provide subspecialization within neurosurgery, such as the treatment of cerebrovascular disease, disorders of the spine and brain tumors. Patients with aneurysms or vascular malformations are treated by neurosurgeons and interventional neuroradiologists who work as a team. Aneurysms can be treated with a clip in surgery or with endovascular coils. Brain tumors are presented to our Tumor Board which includes neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists and radiation oncologists.
We have two internationally recognized pediatric neurosurgeons who treat patients at The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore
